National Legal Forum “Promoting People-Centred Justice in the Kyrgyz Republic”

Mr. Lee Andrey, Executive Director of LEX Law Firm, as a member of the Association “Lawyers of Kyrgyzstan”, participated in the National Legal Forum “Promotion of People-Oriented Justice in the Kyrgyz Republic” (hereinafter - the Forum) on June 24, 2022.

This event was attended by lawyers from all over the Kyrgyz Republic, including dignitaries, representatives of the academic community, the judiciary and other legal practitioners.

Notwithstanding the paradoxical theme of the Forum “people-centred justice”, there are indeed many problems in access to quality justice in the Kyrgyz Republic at present. In this regard, there was an active discussion in panel sessions such as “Key problems in access to justice”, “Implementing quality justice”, “Ensuring accessibility and quality of legal services”, “Alternative ways of dispute resolution”, “Development of legal culture and promotion of gender-sensitive justice”.

We are very pleased that this event was a platform not only for discussing problems, but also for developing concrete proposals for their elimination, which will be forwarded to the relevant authorities for their further advancement. In addition, the Forum provided an opportunity to bring colleagues together and to build a dialogue for possible cooperation in the professional sphere.
