“Digital Law: Current Issues”

LEX Law Firm within the framework of Digital CASA - Kyrgyzstan project has participated as a member of the International Scientific-Practical Conference “Digital Law: Current Issues” held on June 9-10, 2023 in Issyk-Kul (Chok-Tal village, Issyk-Kul region).

The conference was attended by highly qualified specialists and researchers in the field of digital law from the Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Armenia. Invited experts included practicing lawyers, arbitrators, university professors, including representatives of the Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafin, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, St. Petersburg State University, as well as associations and unions of lawyers from CIS and other countries.

The conference provided a forum for discussing a wide range of important issues related to digital law. Attendees shared presentations, held panel discussions and exchanged experiences. The team of the International Digital Law Consortium presented to the participants the draft Digital Code, spoke about the prospects of digital legislation in the Kyrgyz Republic, the specifics and legal basis for digital data processing proposed in the draft Digital Code, the validity of real law in virtual space (meta universes), and the regulation of artificial intelligence.

This Conference stimulated discussions on international cooperation in the field of digital law. There was genuine interest and interest among the participants in discussing the draft Digital Code developed by a team of experts from the Kyrgyz Republic, including academic and scientific circles in the Russian Federation, familiarising themselves with Kyrgyzstan's experience in codifying technological legislation, the methods, principles and approaches to regulation used. Issues of harmonization of legislation and creation of a unified methodology for regulating the digital sphere were considered.

The discussion of actual issues of legal regulation of the digital environment at the international scientific and practical conference facilitated the exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas between authoritative experts and practitioners in the field of digital law, and became a favourable platform for establishing cooperation and developing new approaches in the field of digital law.
