Kyrgyz-Kazakh business forum: strengthening economic ties

On December 2, 2024, LEX Law Firm participated in the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Business Forum held in Bishkek and timed to coincide with the meeting of the Intergovernmental Council. The event was attended by over 70 Kazakhstani companies presenting projects in such areas as oil refining, machine building, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, construction and food industry.

The participants of the event noted the dynamics of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, which is reflected, among other things, in the steadily growing trade turnover between the countries. According to the data voiced by the Vice-Minister of Trade of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev, the volume of trade between our states in 2023 exceeded 1.2 billion U.S. dollars. It should be noted that the past forum was a good platform for discussing joint projects and signing new agreements between the participants of the event.

At the end of the forum, the participants emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and agreed on further implementation of joint initiatives. Joining the opinion of other participants, we also believe that such events promote business development and create new opportunities for both countries.
